Zoeva Brush Haul: Make Up Artist Zoe Bag and 102 Silk Finish Brush

Zoeva Brush Haul - Dusty Foxes Beauty

So recently this box of goodies arrived for me... It was too big to fit into my usual photo taking space so I took the pictures on my bed. Heh.

For those who may not know, Zoeva is a German brand that's famous for their Rose Gold Brush Set.

See rave reviews on them by:

Of course I had to be contrary and want something else besides the one set that everyone was raving about. What can I say, I saw this larger (much more expensive) set and I had to have it. I originally succeeded in avoiding this, but somehow... it ended up in my shopping cart, my details filled themselves in and... well, this lovely package arrived.

A note on their service, I did not contact customer service so I can't say anything about that, but I thought I would mention that I made the order late on a Saturday night and it was delivered before noon on the Wednesday. So I was massively impressed, considering these were shipped from Germany.
Since I'm not sure where to mention this, it cost £7.50 to ship to the UK, and you shouldn't get any weird charges as it covers customs and duties and things like that. So if you are planning on making an order and you have friends who want to get some of these, you may want to order together to split the costs.

As you can see, everything was nicely packaged and the transparent things are the (not-fun) bubble wrap to protect the brushes.

They also included this little card telling you who put together your order and who packaged it. So thank you Zoi and Mareike if they are reading this (probably not). I really like that they did that as it adds a human element (I know that humans are putting together my order but still...) and it's also so that if you need to contact customer service, they know who it was who put together the order. I think that's great.

The first thing I got was the 102 Silk Finish Brush. I wanted this brush since it received positive reviews from the Rose Gold Set (see above links) and it wasn't in the set I got. I decided to just get the single as it was the only one that wasn't in the set that I really really wanted.
This was really nicely packaged with the ziplock bag and it cost £11.00.

The next thing I got was the Make Up Artist Zoe Bag. Now I'm no make up artist, but this set had all the brushes I wanted (minus the one) and came with the Make Up Tote Zoe Bag which I wanted as well, so I decided to go for the splurge.
It was wrapped nicely in black tissue with the Zoeva name and motto on it and was then wrapped in Plastic.

I added some pictures of the interior of the bag so you can see how it's like, starting with the first compartment from the front (the side with the logo). It's made of faux leather but it is very soft and feels really good quality. I love the pink detailing that makes it seem so cute but I do have a small complaint. The middle section (which you can store brushes in), the elastic is quite loose so I actually had brushes fall out when I was trying to put them in.

Besides that, this bag is a dream. The first section I can imagine putting larger (non spilling) items like palettes or powders or blush and the second section is great for brushes (if you're careful not to open it in a way that will let them slip out) as the entire section is covered in plastic so can be wiped clean easily (great for dirty brushes) and the last section I would put things that may spill into the pockets like liquid foundation or loose power. And pencils and eyeliners would fit nicely into the last bit (but the pink elastic is also quite loose so maybe mascaras?)

I love this tote and I think it would be great for if I was going on an extended holiday and wanted to bring lots of make up (like if I had lots of events to go to... but that's unlikely) and this will definitely encourage the over-packer in me. Or perhaps if I was going to do someone else's make up as well. Hmm.... I am currently not using it, but I am considering using it to house my everyday make up (instead of having boxes on my desk) to free up space (as I can put this under my desk when I am not using it).

This post is already far too long so I'll be giving a review of the brushes separately (one for face brushes and another for eye brushes) after I've used them a bit more.

Here is a list of the brushes if you are interested though.

So there you go. This set cost £159 which is nothing to sniff at, but these brushes are soooooooo soft and have not shed (I've washed them once).

You can browse the Zoeva Site (change to UK if you want the price in pounds) if you're interested in these brushes or they do make up as well that is supposed to be quite good.
